Perhaps the title of this post, at least as far as Iām concerned, should be āBooks Iām Grateful to Writeā. Let me elaborate a littleā¦Iāve spent the last two years writing fantasy and science fiction books, and forsaking the genre I love above all, namely contemporary fiction with a strong focus on romantic relationships. In the middle of October I finally decided to put my fantasy/sci-fi penname on hold, while I pursue writing the type of fiction I really love to read.
To date, and two and a half books into my New Adult romance serial, Not Looking For Love, I have to say that this has been the best decision Iāve made in something like the last 5 years. I finally love sitting at the computer and writing everyday, because I just have to get this story out of my head and into a book. Mostly so I can get started on the next one. Iāve regained the pure joy of writing, which I havenāt really felt for quite a while now. I love writing about people who come to life on the page, and the hardships and challenges they face as they struggle to achieve their Happily Ever After!
Anyway, here’s the book I’m talking about…
Description:
Sometimes, what you want is not really what you need.
Gail is only twenty-two years old and her mom is dying. Not just dying, she will be dead in a few days, if the doctors are to be trusted, and Gail is certain she herself won’t survive that. After a run in with Scott, the hot gardener from next door, Gail begins to see him as the perfect distraction from her unbearable life. It’s not love Gail wants. She just wants to feel good with someone who makes her forget, if only for a little while, and Scott fits that description perfectly.
Scott just got back into town and he’s still trying to get his life back together. He already has more problems and regrets than he can ever hope to live with, and the last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who is clearly a little unsettled, if not downright insane. But the fact that Gail is very attractive and keeps throwing herself at him makes it impossible to keep sending her away. Which he should, for Gail’s sake more than his own.
Warning: This book is intended for people 18 years and older, since it contains hot, explicit sex between consenting adults, and all the bad words associated with it.

I enjoy historical and contemporary romance!
dystopian and paranormal romances
I’m grateful to read any book that leaves me still thinking about it days and weeks and months later… I tend to read a lot of mysteries and thrillers so over the years I’ve become really skilled at predicting who the killer is and/or where the plot’s going to go next, so any book that defies those expectations, or any book that conforms to those expectations but does it in a really inventive and interesting way, are books that tend to stay with me. One that comes to mind is “Still Missing” by Chevy Stevens.
I like reading biographys
